DJ Smokey Girl

                  by- Shruti Kawle(Editor)

They say all is well that ends well. The closing night of Zodiac 2014 witnessed some music & dance extravaganza. The much awaited neon-themed 'DJ night' saw DJ Smokey Gal spinning some really crazy beats...from the much-loved EDM to some Hollywood hip hop to our very own Bollywood item numbers closer to home !
To add the extra 'sparkle' to the evening, the crowd present sported neon bands & quite literally, dipped themselves in the oil paints which glowed neon in the bright spotlights ! With the exhilarating music, everbody's groovy dance moves only added to the glamour of the evening !

(Sorry about the image quality. We have been trying hard to get better pictures.)

The awesomeness quotient scaled higher when the Principal sir & Prof. S. D. Deshmukh sir raised the spirits of the crowd by shaking a leg to some old-school Bollywood numbers on stage ! Also, the  highlight of the evening turned out to be the ending of the program, with the much-presumed nostalgia visible in the eyes of all final year students present !  Tears streamed down everybody's cheeks as the lovely DJ played 'yaaron...dosti...' touching the hearts of everyone present !
It was the final night...the final event of Zodiac'14...something that the entire student council had been planning, persevering & putting every inch of themselves into...for the past 2 months ! THAT journey was coming to an end here ! Some mere acquaintances had become friends... Friends had become closest friends... And the ones already close were more than a family now ! That is what Zodiac'14 had done to every working soul of RGIT !
At the end of it all, as they all gathered on the stage...with DJ smokey gal, principal sir & Deshmukh sir, "ONE LAST TIME" is the tone that emerged from the entire lot...quite unitedly, I must say !

Traditional Night

RGIT started their Zodiac festival'14 with traditional night held on 24th March. Many students attended this function dressed up in their gorgeous avatars. You could see beautiful girls dressed in sarees and dresses and handsome guys in shervani's.

And then there were guys wearing lungis showing the south indian culture while girls wore navaris showing their maharashtrain culture, putting the 'tradition' in traditional night. Well, all the people began enjoying the party when the dj started going on with his beats. And accompanying the dj was an awesome nashik dhol.

To make the party more interesting, as always, we had some song dedications from boys to girls, girls to girls and yes, even, boys to boys. Students swayed their bodies to music getting completely lost in it. There were ,as it always is, 5 ''last songs" in the end.

After 3 hours of amazing fun and dance, most of the students left for home but there were people from Zodiac team who spent their night in college and made all the arrangements for the fest. Kudos to them for all the hard work they have put in. Traditional night set the tone for this Zodiac which is promised to be the best yet.

Vishal-Shekhar Night

The evening started with the cast of Purani Jeans promoting their movie, and to introduce them to us, Vishal himself took the stage.  After watching the promo, which received mixed reactions from everyone, a small game of who is wearing the most “purani jeans” in the crowd took place, which ended with all the cast members dancing to one of the songs from their movie.

Then, Vishal and Shekhar took the stage and started with one of the favourites – Bachna ae haseeno. That got the crowd jumping, shouting and dancing. The atmosphere was intense and it only got better. Right around the middle of the gig they started singing some slow songs which lightened up the mood. But everyone was jumping again as they got Neeti Mohan to stage, which was a surprise for everyone.

At one point Mr. Shekhar went to our principal sir and said “Sir, ‘aapke college mien padhai nai hoti bas sab gaane gate hain ”.  Principal sir laughed but I’m sure it hurt a little.

The night was amazing fun for everyone present there. Both the music directors did a great job. They even got our teachers to jump up and sing.

Just found this on twitter. Had to put it up.
